Consistent In Conducting Blood Donation Drives, BCA Receives Award from PMI Jakarta on World Blood Donor Day

Jakarta, July 18, 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to strengthen its commitment to making a positive impact on society, one of which is through the implementation of blood donation activities with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) since 1990. Thanks to its consistency in organizing these activities, BCA has been awarded by PMI Jakarta as one of the institutions that actively conducts blood donation for the period 2023-2024.

The award was presented by PMI Chairman Muhammad Jusuf Kalla and PMI Jakarta Chairman Rustam Effendi to BCA Vice President CSR Solution Titi Yusnarti last weekend. BCA received this award for actively collecting blood bags in the past year. From 2016 to May 2024, BCA has collected 13,138 blood bags for donation.

BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F Haryn said, "We are committed to continuing to have a positive effect on society through various activities, one of which is blood donation drives. We are proud to receive the award from PMI Jakarta, and grateful for all the support and cooperation that has been established over the years. Blood donation is a vital endeavor that not only saves lives but also strengthens social ties within our community. BCA will strive to continue this kind of activity, in the hope that it can continue to have a broader positive impact on society."

In addition to actively conducting blood donation drives, BCA has also donated 18 convalescent plasmas since 2016 to help people in need, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. BCA also supports various health-related activities including donating equipment and supplies to PMI, such as operational donor vehicles, blood scales & mixers totaling more than Rp1.8 billion.

This award from PMI Jakarta complements the appreciation BCA has received in the health sector over the years. In 2017, BCA won a MURI record as the First National Private Bank to Organize the 100th Blood Donation Event.

"We strive to maintain our commitment and consistency in conducting blood donation activities and other contributions to the community. We hope that in the future the number of blood bags that BCA can donate will consistently increase, so that more people can be helped," said Hera.
