Electronics Recycling Event

The City of Creve Coeur is partnering with St. Louis County Public Health and Midwest Recycling Center (MRC) to host an electronics recycling event on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Temple Israel.

During the event, residents may drive up to the designated drop off area in the parking lot of Congregation Temple Israel and, with the help of MRC staff, drop off electronics for safe and responsible disposal. Vehicles should enter from Ladue Road and exit onto Spoede Road.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What items are accepted at this event? Essentially anything with a cord or battery can be recycled during this event, including but not limited to computers, laptops, LCD monitors, scanners, keyboards, microwaves, hard drives, cell phones, tablets, media players, kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, and outdoor power equipment (with oil and fuel removed).
  • Is there a cost? Most items are free to drop off. If you are dropping off negative value items, only the first two items are free to drop off.
  • What are negative value items? Negative value items include: CRT TVs, console/rear projection TVs, LED/LCD/Plasma TVs, printers, copiers, CRT monitors, and items containing Freon such as refrigerators.
  • Is there a fee to recycle negative value items? Each vehicle can drop off up to two (2) negative value items at no cost, as funding allows. The recycling fee for negative value items is funded by a grant from St. Louis County Department of Public Health utilizing County landfill surcharge funds. A fee will apply for any additional negative value items dropped off beyond the two-item limit. Cash or check is accepted during the event.
  • What items are not accepted at this event? Batteries, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, ink/toner cartridges, lightbulbs, thermostats, smoke detectors, and fiber optic cable.
  • Do I have to be a resident to participate in this event? This event is open to all residents of St. Louis County (no businesses, please). You must be a resident of St. Louis County to take advantage of the grant funding for negative-value items.
