Grain stocks sharply higher
Iowa soybeans in storage soar 54%, corn up 11% compared to last year at this time.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's latest Grain Stocks report showed farmers in Iowa and across the United States are holding on to substantially more corn and soybeans than a year ago.
Corn stored in all positions in Iowa on Sept. 1, totaled 306 million bushels, an 11% increase from Sept. 1, 2023. Of the total, 46% was stored on-farm.
