Riversound’s Community Amenities

As the Riversound project progresses, one of its most exciting aspects is the creation of vibrant public spaces that will enhance Napa's connection to its natural surroundings and offer locals new locations to gather. The development's plans for the riverfront, park spaces and the repurposing of the old railroad crossing promise to offer new recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

The project was designed to leverage the site's unique geographic location. The project includes a large central park and a linear park along the old railroad line. These green spaces are designed to not only provide recreational areas but also to preserve the site's historical character. In addition to the park spaces, there will be a trail network that goes North to South, creating a bike and walking trail along the railway. This trail and parks system will provide public access to the waterfront, which was previously limited in the area.

The project will also repurpose the old, decommissioned railroad tracks that run through the site. Instead of being an obstacle, the railroad tracks will serve as a unique feature of the project, creating a nice corridor for pedestrians and cyclists connecting different parts of the development. In a nod to the site's industrial past, Riversound will also incorporate historical artifacts as public art features. This includes large, steel tractors that used to lift ships out, cranes, pipes and other pieces that pay homage to when the site was Napa's pipe yard decades ago.

These amenities will serve as the foundation for the Riversound project's development as a key community space. With the addition of significant space for new businesses, the site hopes to attract cafes, restaurants and other commercial spaces that will serve as community gathering locations and enhance the overall appeal of the development.

This project serves as a multi-faceted approach to meeting Napa community needs. By providing unique waterfront access, creating a cultural and historical hub, expanding park spaces and improving commercial offerings, the Riversound project is sure to connect with the local community and serve as an attraction for visitors. As the project progresses, the Economic Development team looks forward to sharing more details about how these spaces will come to life to best serve the community.
