Ridge To Rivers Partnership Gathering Feedback On Trail Management and User Experience Through Fall Survey

The Ridge to Rivers partnership, led by the City of Boise, is once again seeking feedback on the popular Boise Foothills trail system through an online survey. The goal of the brief survey is to gather user input on overall use, trail maintenance practices, and to seek feedback on new Ridge to Rivers resources. "Input from trail users is invaluable in shaping our management strategies and enhancing recreation opportunities in the Boise Foothills," said Ridge to Rivers Program Manager David Gordon. "These trails belong to everyone, and surveys like this provide an opportunity for the community to engage in the mindful and responsible use of the over 220 miles of trails we maintain."
The fall survey is scheduled to close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Trail managers and the Boise Parks and Recreation Department will analyze the input received and provide a summary for trail users following the feedback period. This is the fourth year of seeking input on an annual basis, and many suggestions received in previous surveys have been incorporated into our practices. In addition to questions about the Ridge to Rivers Trail System, users also have the opportunity to provide input on a new art installation planned in Hulls Gulch Reserve coordinated by the Boise City Department of Arts & History.
"Those who use the Ridge to Rivers trail system are often our strongest advocates for preserving open spaces and accessible recreation," said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. "We encourage everyone to take part in this survey to further discussions on trail management, open space access, educational opportunities and overall enjoyment of our trails."
Muddy Trails Reminder
Fall means the start of muddy trail season in the Boise Foothills. Please remember to stay off wet and muddy trails to prevent long-term damage and erosion. When in doubt, stick to paved pathways at parks or use the Boise Greenbelt when it rains. The Ridge to Rivers interactive map is updated with trail condition reports by trail throughout the year. The trail system's all-weather trails are also a good option when the weather is wet. Click here for a full list of locations.
