UWF’s information technology program earns prestigious ABET accreditation

"Achieving ABET accreditation for the UWF Bachelor's in Information Technology demonstrates our core value of innovation and commitment to continuously improving our degree programs," said Dr. Dallas Snider, professor, UWF vice provost and the former chair of the department who oversaw all of the changes and processes that led up to the accreditation. "Our graduates now have opportunities for employment with organizations that require an ABET accredited degree."

The B.S. in Information Technology trains students to be leaders in information technology and provides them with a firm grounding in cybersecurity, databases, networks, operating systems and programming principles. UWF's information technology program prepares students for various industry certifications including Cisco, Red Hat, and CompTIA Security+. These certifications open up additional job opportunities and ensure that the program graduates are ready for the workplace.
