Passage of Typhoon Yagi

The Brazilian government is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of lives, injuries, and displacement caused by heavy rains following the passage of Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar, Thailand and Laos. Brazil also regrets the material losses caused by the typhoon.

The Brazilian government hopes that the displaced populations will be able to return to their homes as soon as possible and that reconstruction work will allow normal activities to be resumed quickly in the affected areas.

In this time of sorrow, Brazil calls on partner nations to redouble their efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change, in response to escalating extreme natural events of this nature.

As of now, there are no reports of Brazilian citizens among the dead or injured.
