Belarusian and Russian MPs Discussed Development of Joint Projects in Science and Education

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia conducted its 66th session in Minsk. MPs of both states discussed the formation and development of a unified scientific and educational space within the framework of the Union State. Heads of the relevant ministries from both countries presented information on their collaboration in these spheres.

The session was chaired by Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly and Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko was elected as the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly.

Based on the discussions, the relevant ministries of both countries were recommended to endorse the initiative to establish a Network University of High Technologies within the Union State. The development of this project should be aligned with strategic, scientific and technical priorities.

The session also covered preparations for the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia and considered the report by the Union State Council of Ministers on the execution of the Union State budget for 2023.

Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council and Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut represented the IPA CIS at the session.

In addition, members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the State Union of Belarus and Russia laid flowers at the Victory Monument in Minsk.
