South End Officers Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

At about 6:03 PM, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Kyle Connelly, 28, of Boston, for armed robbery.

Officers responded to the area of 341 Harrison Avenue for a report of a robbery. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of the suspect and a direction of flight. Officers observed a suspect matching the description in the area of Washington Street and Harold Street. Officers could also see that the suspect was holding a knife in his right hand.

As officers approached the suspect, he attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended. Officers placed the suspect into handcuffs and searched his backpack. Officers were able to recover approximately $237 in stolen merchandise, which were returned to the store.

Connelly was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Robbery. Officers later determined that the suspect had two active warrants for Larceny Under $1,200, and Shoplifting by Asportation. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
