TRAFFIC FATALITY – ANAHEIM STREET AND ORANGE AVENUE

Collision Investigation Detail detectives are investigating a collision that occurred on Nov. 2, 2024,which resulted in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 11:03 p.m., officerswere dispatched to the area of Anaheim Street and Orange Avenue regardingan injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers locateda male pedestrian in the roadway being treated by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, however the pedestrian succumbedto his injuries at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicatesthat a newer model Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Anaheim Street when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway, east of Orange Avenue. The pedestrian was believed to be crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk.

Thedriver fled the scene in a Chevrolet Silverado.

The decedent's identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
