Monroe County’s Strickland Loop Landfill Will Host Scrap Tire Amnesty Day on Thursday, July 11

Monroe County Recycle/Solid Waste Management will be holding its 3rd Scrap Tire Amnesty Day on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Monroe County Strickland Loop Landfill located at 513 Strickland Loop East, Forsyth, Ga off Highway 83 North (4 miles from the Courthouse).

Tire disposal can be costly to the county and individuals. To help save tax dollars and promote recycling efforts within our County; ALL Monroe County and City of Forsyth residents (non-commercial) can bring as many Vehicle Tires (No Rims or Large Tractor Tires) as possible to the Landfill Tire holding area at NO CHARGE.

This event will assist in offsetting the cost of tire disposal for Monroe County and individuals. Please begin your annual property cleanup and instead of taking your tires to the Recycle Centers, please save all tire disposal for our Tire Day Event. We want to encourage everyone's participation to make this event successful.

Should you have any questions or need details regarding this event, contact Solid Waste Coordinator Nathan Dumas at 478-992-5049.
