Board of Supervisors Return from Summer Recess

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors will return from its summer recess on Tuesday, August 20, at 5 pm. This is the first meeting featuring the Board's newly adopted meeting schedule. It will be a B Day. (For complete meeting schedule details, visit the Board of Supervisors Adopts New Meeting Schedule.)

On B days, the Board will present proclamations, consider work session items, hear presentations and reports from departments, hear presentations by the public, hold public hearings, hold any needed closed meetings, and have Board member reports.

The Board of Supervisors appreciates interest in Stafford County Government and welcomes public participation. The public has two opportunities to comment during board meetings: during the public presentation section and during a public hearing on a particular issue. To speak, complete a form found on the table at the rear of the chamber. Speaker cards are acknowledged in the order in which the clerk of the board receives them.

Public presentations on B-Day take place at 6:30 pm. Speakers have three minutes to speak and should be prepared to state their name and address. You may speak on any subject except those the Board considers during a public hearing.

Public hearings are listed in the agenda and include opportunities to speak at the time the hearing is held. Speakers have three minutes to speak and should be prepared to state their name and address. Online comments are an additional opportunity for public comment. Those who would like to provide comments online can visit www.staffordcountyva.gov/publiccomment.

More information on speaking during public presentations and public hearings may be found at www.staffordcountyva.gov/publichearing. The meeting agenda is published by noon on the Friday before the Board meeting and may be accessed at www.staffordcountyva.gov/agenda.
