Man arrested after assault in west Eugene

At 10:26 a.m. on July 21, Eugene Police responded to the 500 block of Danebo after a man was reported to have punched a woman and backed his car toward her so that she had to move out of the way to avoid being hit. The man, Gage Dalton Malone-Tague, age 31, had driven away from the scene. Malone-Tague was reported to have a knife and handgun in the vehicle, and additional firearms at his trailer home in the 1100 block of Lake Park Drive. However, Malone-Tague is prohibited from possessing firearms and having contact with the woman.

Officers contacted Malone-Tague in his trailer. He refused to exit without a warrant. Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant by a judge. At around 4:53 p.m., Malone-Tague was compliant once the warrant was provided. A handgun, semi-automatic rifle, and ammunition were located during the search. Malone-Tague was transported to Lane County Jail on charges that include Assault in the Fourth Degree APA (Abuse Prevention Act), Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Contempt of Court.
