Ottawa Police statement on 2024 homicides

(Ottawa)-The Ottawa Police Service shares the community's concerns about the 23 tragic deaths from 18 homicide cases in Ottawa this year.

We remain committed to working with the community to solve these serious incidents together.

The Homicide Unit has solved 72% of these cases, and five remain open and under active investigation.

Our thoughts are with all those affected.

The Victim Support Unit provides immediate and ongoing assistance and resources to help families through these difficult times.

We are dedicated to working with our community and partners to prevent violence and ensure everyone's safety.
