Lehigh County: Update on Kernsville Road Bridge Project

Restriction: Kernsville Road, which has been closed and detoured since May 1 for bridge repairs of the Kernsville Road Bridge over Jordan Creek, will be closed until September 9.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed in August.

Work on this bridge includes steel repairs and replacement of the deck and beams on the two-span steel truss structure.
Beginning on May 1, Kernsville Road will be closed and detoured while crews rehabilitate the bridge. Vehicle traffic will be detoured on PA 100, Hassadahl Road, and PA 309. The truck detour will utilize PA 100, Tilghman Street, and PA 309.

Also as part of the project, Grist Mill Road at the intersection with Kernsville Road will be closed and detoured. The detour will utilize Shankweiler Road and Woodlea Road.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA is the general contractor on the $3,098,957 project.
