Gloria Moreno - Library District

"When the Arizona City Library was facing a situation in which the last of their very limited staff resigned, and the library faced a temporary closure, Gloria stepped up and volunteered to report to that library nearly 50 miles from her home - four days a week - to ensure that it could remain open.

Thanks to her deep experience in library management, Gloria helped us put the library back on its feet after a somewhat rocky six months, including reviewing and assessing procedures and systems put in place by the former manager and hiring and training replacement staff.

Without her help, re-staffing the library would have taken months. Gloria didnʼt just show a willingness to help; she came up with the solution and volunteered to implement it. Her commitment, not just to the library and staff she manages in San Tan Valley but to the library district as a whole, has always been a tremendous asset to the department. However, in this case, her initiative, flexibility, and dedication to the team merit particular acknowledgment."
