FRA joins annual meeting of regional human rights mechanisms

The annual meetings of regional mechanisms' focal points provide the opportunity to take stock of implementation of recommendations from previous workshops. It also a chance to share information and good practices on cooperation as well as plan for activities and initiatives to enhance sharing of jurisprudence, and human rights norms and standards.

FRA provided information from its report on Being Black in the EU - Experiences of people of African descent and its upcoming gender-based violence survey results. It also spoke about its cooperation with the Council of Europe, the UN Human Rights Office and its support for human rights systems and defenders.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, as well as African, Arab, Asian and American Regional Organisations.
