The LIRR Adds Service to Elmont-UBS Arena During Thursday Morning’s Rush Hour for the Dalai Lama’s Visit

21 Trains Will Make Additional Stops at Woodside and Elmont-UBS Arena

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) today announced that several Huntington, Ronkonkoma, and a few Hempstead morning trains will add stops at Elmont-UBS Arena and/or Woodside in both directions to supplement service for those traveling to the UBS Arena to see the Dalai Lama tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 22.

Between 6:45 a.m. and 11: 45 a.m., 21 trains that travel along the Main Line will add stops at Elmont -UBS Arena and/or Woodside:

  • 9 eastbound trains will add a stop at Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 5 westbound trains will add a stop at Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 1 eastbound train will add a stop at Woodside
  • 2 eastbound trains will add a stop at both Woodside and Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 4 westbound trains will add a stop at both Woodside and Elmont-UBS Arena

Most Hempstead Branch morning trains, both eastbound and westbound, already have a scheduled stop at Elmont-UBS Arena.

Due to added stops, customers along the Main Line, which includes Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson, Hempstead and Oyster Bay customers, are advised to plan ahead as scattered delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.

For specific train information, customers are advised to check the TrainTime app where schedules have already been updated with the supplemental service.
