SCDOT to implement temporary lane closures on US 1 Bridge over the Wateree River in Kershaw County

​Columbia, S.C.(July 12, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will be implementing temporary lane closures on the US 1 Eastbound bridge over the Wateree River in Kershaw County beginning Saturday, July 13.

The lane closures will take place during the day Saturday and until noon on Sunday, July 14. These lane closures will allow crews to repair areas of the bridge deck.

Nighttime closures are expected to continue. This project is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.

We appreciate the public's patience as we continue to make repairs to this bridge. As always, SCDOT encourages drivers to slow down and pay attention when driving through work zones.
