The following message was sent from Interim President Denis O'Brien to the Drexel community:

Dear Members of the Drexel Community,

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to Drexel University's Board of Trustees for their trust and confidence in selecting me to lead this great institution as interim president. I am honored to serve in this role and pledge to all of you that my priority during this time of transition will be to uphold all that makes Drexel an innovative institution at the forefront of higher education.

As a member of Drexel's Board for more than 20 years, I have witnessed firsthand the University's trajectory to excellence. I had the privilege of collaborating closely with President John Fry since the onset of his tenure and am immensely grateful for his dynamic vision and transformative leadership.

During his 14 years at Drexel, President Fry has set a national example for how an urban university can conduct groundbreaking research and become an inclusive hub of innovation inspiring students and faculty while generating new partnerships and affiliations. I look forward to working with President Fry, Provost Paul Jensen, and Helen Bowman, Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Operating Officer, to ensure a seamless transition.

As a trustee and alumnus of the LeBow College of Business, I remain dedicated to the continued success of this remarkable university, which could not be achieved without the contributions of talented faculty, dedicated professional staff, outstanding students, and a committed Board of Trustees.

I look forward to officially serving in my role as interim president and to seeing all of you on campus.
