New lighting at Northern Beaches Secondary College Cromer Campus
Newly installed upgrades to lighting at Manly Warringah Softball sportsfield at John Fisher Park, North Curl Curl, Seaforth Oval, and Northern Beaches Secondary College Cromer Campus will mean sporting codes will have year-round access to the grounds for evening training, social play, and competition opportunities.
In 2017 the Northern Beaches Sportsground Strategy identified a shortage of sportsfields on the Northern Beaches. In the short term, this shortfall will be met by using existing sportsgrounds more efficiently and by increasing capacity through actions such as installing lights, improving drainage, reconfiguring the fields, and accessing school sportsfields for community use outside of school hours.
The upgrades include the installation of state-of-the-art LED lighting across all three sportsfields and offer the following benefits:
The upgrade project is funded and delivered through a combination of sources including NSW Government Office of Sport, Cromer Collaroy Strikers Football Club, Manly Warringah Softball and Council.
