The Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems of the National Research Council of Italy (Cnr-Imm) has received a grant by the Italian Ministry of the Enterprises and of the Made in Italy (MIMIT) for participating to the second Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) on microelectronics and connectivity "IPCEI ME/CT".

The IPCEI ME/CT is one of the most important EU initiatives on microelectronics currently running. It is a wide integrated project on research, development, and first industrial deployment concerning the whole value chain of the microelectronic and telecommunication technologies. It directly involves 56 companies and more than 30 associated partners, with a total cost of 21.7 billion Euros.

The Cnr-Imm is one of the associated partners of the IPCEI ME/CT initiative, and its project, "MicroTech_for_Green", has the objective of developing microelectronic technologies for the Green Transition. The project, just started in June 2024, will last for 5 years, and it plans to work in strong synergy both with other IPCEI ME/CT direct partners and with other companies, universities, and research centers which participate or use the EU microelectronics ecosystem.
