Traffic Stop Leads to gun arrest in Philadelphia

On July 1, 2024, at 8:55 p.m., State Police in Watertown conducted a traffic stop on an F-150 Ford Truck that had an expired registration on Irish Ave in the town of Philadelphia.

The operator, identified as Travis R. Wright, age 43, from Alexandria Bay, NY, was wanted by the Watertown Police Department for an active arrest warrant. An impound inventory search of the vehicle revealed two 30-round magazines and an AR rifle with no serial number.

Wright was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Firearm (class "E" felony) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (class "D" felony).

Wright was issued six Vehicle and Traffic Law tickets for:

• Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Inspection Certificate
• Operating Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
• Operating Unregistered Vehicle
• Improper Plates
• No License
• Aggravated Unlicensed Operation Of A Motor Vehicle


Wright was transported to SP Watertown for processing and turned over to Watertown Police Department for his warrant charges..
