Aug. 8, 2024 - Research and Sponsored programs is pleased to share that four projects, led by various CSUCI faculty members and the director of our Santa Rosa Island Research Station, were recently funded or had funding renewed, to continue the important work.

  • Kiki Patsch, Ph.D., and Dororthy Horn, Ph.D., were awarded $40,000 from the Beach Erosion Authority for Clean Oceans and Nourishment (BEACON) and an additional $10,000 from the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority (MCRA) in support of Horn's project, "Summer Beach Attendance Monitoring." The project will provide student research opportunities to assist with the collection of summer beach attendance data and intercept surveys collected at ten beaches in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties.
