Investigation Update: Two Suspects Arrested Following a Shooting Incident Downtown

Investigation Update: At about 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Robert Mallard, 45, of Dorchester, in the area of 1000 Harvard Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Boston Municipal Court for Two Counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building. A second suspect, Emily Mackey, 27, of Dorchester, was located inside the apartment and was arrested for an active warrant issued out of Boston Municipal Court for Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The address has been secured pending a search warrant.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 3:00 AM, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to the area of 40 Summer Street for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second gunshot victim self-applied to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
