Poland: Qair commissions Olszówka wind farm

The project consists of:

6 wind turbines with a total capacity of 12.8 MW

Meeting the energy demand of circ. 24,000 households

Avoiding the emission of circ. 33,700 tonnes of CO2 per year

Wrocław, 26 September 2022 - Qair announces the commissioning of its seventh wind farm in Poland. The 12.8 MW project is located in Olszówka, in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship. After less than two years since the launch of the design phase, electricity will flow from the wind park, which could meet the energy demand of approximately 24,000 households. The group currently owns and operates 258 MW of installed operating capacity in wind and photovoltaic farms in Poland.

The Olszówka Wind Park will generate 43 GWh of electricity per year. The project consists of six Vestas turbines of which four 2.2 MW and two 2 MW. The electricity produced in Olszówka will avoid the annual emission of approximately 33,700 tonnes of CO2 .

The Olszówka farm is the second wind farm project that we have put into operation in recent months. Poland deserves an even more affordable electricity from RES and we can contribute to make a positive difference. With the soaring energy prices, both businesses and individuals are awaiting solutions. In the coming months, we plan to complete the construction of four additional wind farms and ten photovoltaic projects, increasing our operating volume to almost 400 MW. - says Krzysztof Wojtysiak, CEO of Qair Polska.

Indeed, by the end of 2022, Qair plans to commission new wind farms in Wądroże Wielkie and Wisznice. In 2023, projects with a total capacity of 82 MW will enter the operational phase, including those in Stawiszyn and Widuchowa, as well as an over 80-hectare photovoltaic farm in Kalisz Pomorski, and nine smaller PV farms located in Dolny Śląsk and Wielkopolska. At the same time, Qair is negotiating contracts for the implementation of 3 photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 120 MW, the implementation of which will be completed at the end of the next year. The company will then reach a significant development milestone with 0.5 GW of installed capacity in Poland.

Currently, Qair owns and operates seven wind parks in Rzepin, Linowo, Udanin, Września, Parzęczew, Rychwał and Olszówka generating electricity through a total of 93 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 205 MW. Additionally, the project portfolio is supplemented by photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 53 MW.
