Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Presents Village of Hanover Park with $800,000 in Federal Funding to Upgrade Sewer System

HANOVER PARK, IL - Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the Village of Hanover Park with $800,000 in federal community project funding he secured for the rehabilitation of six sanitary sewer lifts in the village. The six lifts, which are original to the developments, are coming up on end of life and will be upgraded to ensure they meet Clean Water Act Standards. The funding, secured by Congressman Krishnamoorthi in March as part of the bipartisan government spending bill, will also decrease the risk of water contamination from the old pipes.

"Upgrading critical infrastructure is the best way to prevent accidents and protect the public," Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. "By rehabilitating these six sewage stations in Hanover Park with the funding I secured, we will protect the community from the risk of pipe contamination, leaks, and breaks."
