Morningstar Announces Agenda for Sustainable Investing Summit 2024

Morningstar has announced the agenda for Morningstar Sustainable Investing Summit 2024, taking place on 7-8th November 2024 in Amsterdam

The agenda features Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar; Anthony Gardner, Former US Ambassador to the EU and managing partner at Brookfield; Sue Lloyd, Vice Chair at ISSB; Constantijn van Oranje, Special Envoy at Techleap; and Sony Kapoor, CEO of the Nordic Institute for Finance, Technology & Sustainability and Professor of Climate, Geoeconomics & Finance

AMSTERDAM, 24 July 2024 - Morningstar Europe Limited, a subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc.(NASDAQ: MORN) and leading provider of independent investment insights, has announced the agenda for the Morningstar Sustainable Investing Summit to be held on 7th - 8th November 2024 at Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.

Set ahead of COP29, this summit brings together industry leaders, market participants, and academics, addressing the role of climate finance in aiding the transition to net zero.

Climate Transition - Engagement Over Divestment The impending climate crisis demands both innovative and actionable solutions. This panel will dissect the long-standing debate between engagement and divestment strategies in the context of climate transition.

Digging Deeper into Human Rights and Investment This panel digs deep into key thematic human rights issues. Speakers will provide insights and case studies from their own perspectives and experience, highlighting best practice on, as well as challenges to, investor respect of human rights in the context of the key themes.

A Spotlight on Governance in ESG Investors are increasingly turning their attention to investee companies' governance of sustainability issues. Climate remains centre stage, but wider issues such as human rights, employee and stakeholder engagement, and responsible use of technology are becoming more prominent. This panel will discuss key questions over who on the board should hold responsibility for such issues, how governance of sustainability links to the overall corporate strategy, and how to respond to changing investor preferences on accountability.
