Celebrate July 4 with ice cream at Camp Hancock State Historic Site

BISMARCK, N.D. - Cool off with an ice cream cone and lemonade July 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Camp Hancock State Historic Site in Bismarck. Children are invited to make an Independence Day popper to celebrate. Activities are free, and all ages are welcome.

The historic site will be open for touring during the social. Camp Hancock is home to the oldest standing building in Bismarck and one of the oldest standing churches in North Dakota. View the 1909 locomotive engine, and learn about the U.S. Weather Bureau and early military activity in North Dakota.

Camp Hancock State Historic Site, 101 E. Main Ave. in Bismarck, is managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Summer hours are Friday through Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The site grounds with outdoor interpretive signs are open year-round.
