Monterey Park PD Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision on South Atlantic Boulevard

On August 20, 2024 at approximately 11:01 a.m., the Monterey Park Police Department responded to the 100 block of South Atlantic Boulevard for a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

Monterey Park Police and Fire Departments arrived on scene and located an unresponsive male pedestrian lying on the street. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a male adult, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Currently, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.

The decedent's name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
