Family Hospice, Part of UPMC, is pleased to offer a live webinar featuring world-renowned author and grief educator, Dr. Alan Wolfelt. Offered in partnership with Stevens Family Funeral Home, this webinar is titled "Tending to Your Broken Heart when Someone Dies: Hope for Your Healing" and will be held on Mon., Nov. 18 from 3-6 p.m. at UPMC Altoona. His books have sold more than a million copies worldwide and have been translated into many languages. In this event, Dr. Wolfelt will discuss the following topics: a broader framework for loss; exploring the "ripple effect" of grief: loss of self, security, meaning; understanding the value of convalescence; distinguishing grief from mourning; unique influence on your grief; describing potential dimensions of your response; identifying the six central needs of mourning; understanding your self-care essentials and hope for your healing: reconciliation versus resolution.

Registration is required for the in-person or virtual option. Seating is reserved on a first come, first served basis. If attending in person, parking is available at the UPMC Altoona parking garage for a $2 fee. The webinar will be streamed in the Rotunda on the sixth floor.
