Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised TotalEnergies Marketing France on the framework of the filing to the French Competition Authority of its joint venture project with RATP Smart Systems.
The purpose of the joint venture is to develop and market, to public and private-sector companies, an employee commuting management service.
The service will include a mobility card, in the form of a bank card linked to the Mastercard network, which employees will be able to use to directly pay for their commuting costs. Such costs include fuel, electric charging, public transport passes or bike hire. An application will permit employees to track their budget and all spending with their mobility card.
This is the first time that the Authority has had the opportunity to define the market for the provision of payment and management solutions for commuting costs.
In the absence of any competition concerns, the Authority cleared the transaction without conditions.
The Paris-based Norton Rose Fulbright team advising TotalEnergies Marketing France on this project was led by antitrust and competition partner Marta Giner Asins, with support from counsel Arnaud Sanz and associates Constance Chevreste and Sarah Aït Benali.
