Route 116 Lane Reduction Begins Friday, July 19

The Peoria County Highway Department will temporarily reduce Illinois Route 116 (Plank Road) to two lanes at the intersection of Maxwell Road starting Friday, July 19, 2024. This reduction is to make space for resurfacing work on Maxwell beginning Monday, July 22; work is expected to last through Friday, July 26, conditions permitting.

Motorists are advised to watch for traffic lane shifts, use caution in the intersection, and expect delays. As a reminder, Maxwell Road itself remains closed south of Route 116 with a detour posted.
