University of Charleston Sees Increases in New and Total Student Enrollment

While some schools nationwide are struggling with maintaining enrollment, the University of Charleston is seeing a brighter picture. For Fall 2024, new degree-seeking student enrollment increased 16.8%, driving total enrollment up 6.4% compared to Fall 2023.

These results continue the 2024-23 pattern of total student enrollment increases from spring to spring and summer to summer semesters as well.

Over 800 new degree-seeking students are beginning their academic journey at UC, a new Fall enrollment record. Enrollment increases came from several programs across all locations (Charleston, Beckley, and online) and all degree levels.

"Our faculty and staff work tirelessly to help each and every student achieve their personal and professional goals," said UC President Marty Roth. "We take great pride in working with traditional age and adult learners, via in-seat, online, and hybrid modalities, offering them options ranging from certificates, associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees."

"We are thrilled to be welcoming so many new students to the UC community this fall," stated Dr. Beth Wolfe, UC Executive Vice President of Enrollment Management. "While nothing about recruiting students in the current national landscape is easy, our dedication to building relationships with prospective students is proving persuasive with those who consider us for their higher education experiences."
