US Energy Security
The United States, after decades of wanting, is energy independent and the world's largest oil and natural gas producer-providing energy security to a point. The climate issue is changing the national energy agenda, but the energy transition is proving complex. Hydrocarbons still account for over 80 percent of US energy, and President Biden has predicted, "We're going to need oil for a long time, gas for a long time."
