“The Great Victory has eternally registered our nation’s existence on the Anatolian lands”

President Erdoğan, in a message on August 30 Victory Day, said: "The Great Victory, which Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk described as 'the immortal monument of the Turkish Nation's idea of freedom and independence,' has eternally registered our nation's existence on the Anatolian lands. With the Great Victory, the Turkish Nation once again declared to the whole world that it would not accept captivity, that it would not let shackles be put on its will, and that it would never compromise on living independently in its own homeland."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on August 30 Victory Day.

The message reads as follows:

"Today, we are all celebrating the 102^nd anniversary of the Great Victory with enthusiasm, excitement and pride. On this important day, one of the critical milestones in our history, I congratulate the August 30 Victory Day of our beloved nation, our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters, and our millions of citizens all over the world. I extend my most heartfelt gratitude to our guests at our missions abroad who share our joy on the Victory Day.

"WITH THE AUGUST 30, THE DOORS TO THE PROCLAMATION OF THE REPUBLIC WERE THROWN WIDE OPEN"

The Great Victory, which Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk described as 'the immortal monument of the Turkish Nation's idea of freedom and independence,' has eternally registered our nation's existence on the Anatolian lands. With the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief on August 30, the occupation forces were decisively defeated, the axis of imperialism was shattered, and the doors to the proclamation of the Republic were thrown wide open.

With the Great Victory, the Turkish Nation once again declared to the whole world that it would not accept captivity, that it would not let shackles be put on its will, and that it would never compromise on living independently in its own homeland.

The Great Victory, won thanks to our martyrs' heroism, our veterans' blood and our nation's sacrifices, still guides us today. While marching towards our goals for the Century of Türkiye determinedly, we are also realizing our ideal of a great and powerful Türkiye step by step.

"WE STAND FIRMLY BY ALL THE OPPRESSED"

We are mobilizing all our means and resources to stop the conflicts, oppressions and massacres occurring in different parts of the world, particularly in Gaza. We stand firmly by all the oppressed, regardless of their identity or faith and without expecting any material benefit.

I would like to express the following with great pleasure: We are stronger today than yesterday; we will inshallah be much stronger tomorrow. Together with our brothers and sisters devoted to the same ideal as ours, we will definitely establish a global order whereby everyone is represented fairly.

Türkiye, which inspired oppressed nations with its War of Independence, will also spearhead a world where peace, justice and tranquility prevail. With these thoughts in my mind, I remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Victory, and his comrades-in-arms with gratitude, pray that Allah the Almighty may have mercy on all our martyrs, the eternal guardians of our independence, and gratefully commemorate our veterans.
