Gentry, Harrison Route 136 resurfacing to begin Sept. 3

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A project to resurface portions of U.S. Route 136 is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 3. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will resurface two portions of Route 136 from Stanberry to Gentry County Road 520 and from Albany to Bethany.

Crews will begin near Stanberry and work toward Carmack Junction, before moving to the next segment. During construction, the speed limit through the work zone will be lowered to 45 miles per hour, and the roadway will be narrowed to one lane in 2-mile segments. A pilot car and flaggers will be present to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays.

A 12-foot width restriction will be in place. The project is scheduled to be completed by November.
