Hampton wins inaugural award for inclusivity

Oct. 8, 2024 - The City of Hampton was recognized for its dedication to diversity last month by the Peninsula Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Hampton won the inaugural Inclusive Excellence Platinum Award, which was accepted by Gabe Diaz and Mariah Roederer from the Citizens' Unity Commission. The award honors Hampton's efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion.

The award was given on Sept. 19, when the SHRM held its annual conference in Newport News. Langley Federal Credit Union and the Peninsula Agency on Aging also won awards.
