Jacksonville Contract Postal Carrier Indicted On Credit Card Fraud And Theft Of Mail Charges

Jacksonville, Florida - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging Daniel Diaz Garcia (34, Jacksonville) with credit card fraud and theft of mail. If convicted, Diaz faces up to 10 years in federal prison on the credit card fraud charge, up to 5 years in prison on the theft of mail charge, and payment of restitution to the victims in the case. Diaz was arrested on July 29, 2024, by the United States Postal Service - Office of Inspector General.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

This case was investigated by United States Postal Service - Office of Inspector General. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Frein.
