Key Info
Purdue University Fort Wayne's popular Omnibus Speaker Series continues Nov. 19 when writer and television journalist Luke Russert takes the stage at Auer Performance Hall lectern at 7:30 p.m.
The son of longtime "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert, Luke Russert published "Look for Me There: Grieving My Father, Finding Myself," a 2023 book capturing the essence of his search for meaning after his father died in 2008. He'll share his insights during "Grief Journey," which is a tale of travel and adventure, but also a profound exploration of grief, faith, and self-discovery, along with a vision of the future.
An Emmy-winning former network news correspondent with a distinguished eight-year career primarily focused on American politics, Russert took a courageous leap beyond conventional success. Feeling a deep sense of unfulfillment despite a promising trajectory, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery, often traveling solo, spanning six continents and over 70 countries. This transformative adventure culminated in his memoir, which captures the essence of his search for meaning.
Tickets will be released at 1:30 p.m. today. They are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Schatzlein Box Office or PFW's online ticketing platform. A $1.50 convenience charge is assessed per ticket for online orders, with a limit of four tickets per person.
For anyone wanting to get tickets to the show in person, box office hours are from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
Reserved online tickets can be sent to patrons via text message or email. These digital options are helpful to avoid standing at the box office the night of the show. Tickets can also be picked up in person beginning one hour before the presentation.
The Omnibus Speaker Series at Purdue Fort Wayne is made possible in part due to the support of the English-Bonter-Mitchell Foundation, which has sponsored every season since the series launched in 1995.
