Sen. Billy Hickman Applauds Lee Cromley’s Appointment to Georgia Farmland Advisory Council

ATLANTA (December 12, 2024) - Today, Sen. Billy Hickman (R-Statesboro) is pleased to announce that Lee Cromley, a family farmer from Bulloch County, has been appointed by Lt. Governor Burt Jones to serve on the Georgia Farmland Advisory Council. Sen. Hickman recommended Cromley for the position, citing his extensive experience and dedication to Georgia's agricultural community.

"I could not think of anyone more worthy of serving on the Georgia Farmland Advisory Council than Lee Cromley," said Sen. Hickman. "As a lifelong family farmer in Bulloch County, Lee brings invaluable expertise of the challenges and opportunities facing Georgia's local agricultural community. I want to thank Lt. Governor Jones for appointing Lee to this critical role. With Lee Cromley's insight and leadership, we will be able to guarantee that family farmers' perspectives are front and center in statewide discussions about farmland conservation and sustainable practices."

The Georgia Farmland Advisory Council, created in 2023 through the passage of Senate Bill 220, is tasked with advising the Georgia Department of Agriculture on the administration and implementation of farmland preservation programs. The council is comprised of 14 members, including family farmers, agricultural experts, and representatives from key organizations.
