Wash 'n Shine: back to work or study with renewed insights

04 October 2024News item

On 1, 2 and 3 October, the second Wash 'n Shine for students and staff took place in the Refter during Vitality Month.

All staff and students of Radboud University could gain insights into their health in various ways over the three days. They could cyclele for a healthy smoothie, use a special scale to gain insight into their real age, measure stress levels and have a professional massage to loosen tight muscles. Many staff and students visited the inner car wash in the Refter and talked to the experts from Vitalogic, Radboud Sport & Culture, career coaches and campus psychologists.

Besides the physical location in the Refter, online workouts were organised by Radboud Sport & Culturefor the first time this year. Many colleagues and students participated live from their workstations.

It may pay to spend more time in a working day without a chair. Read the interview with Joris Hermans, head of Radboud Sport & Culture, in which he stresses the importance of active working. 'Sitting behaviour among Dutch people increases as education level increases. This shows that university employees are quite a health risk target group. An important signal to take seriously.'
