Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to perform curb ramp and electrical work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in September.

A traffic shift may be needed for curb ramp work in Point Reyes Station from Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

A traffic shift may be needed for electrical and curb ramp work in the town of Tomales between the same days and hours.

There is tentative electrical work in Point Reyes Station on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. One-way traffic control would be utilized.

Changeable Message signs will be put up in the areas to remind residents about the construction.

This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.

The completion timeline for the project is Summer 2025.

All work is dependent on weather.

Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
