Secretary-General of ASEAN to participate in the APEC Ministerial Meeting 2024

At the joint invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru Elmer Schialer and Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Peru Desilú León, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting 2024 in Lima, Peru, on 14 November 2024. Themed under "Empower, Include, and Grow," Peru is the chair of APEC this year, having previously served as the APEC Chair in 2008 and 2016, respectively. The visit of Dr. Kao to Peru also marks an important milestone in ASEAN-Peru relations, noting that Peru was conferred the status of Development Partner of ASEAN during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat in January of this year.
