Jury Convicts Eric Douglas Zentzis (45) of Criminal Threats

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County jury convicted Eric Douglas Zentzis (DOB 09/14/1979) of making felony Criminal Threats.

A San Luis Obispo County jury convicted Morro Bay resident Eric Douglas Zentzis (45) of making felony Criminal Threats against a former girlfriend. The offense is a "strike" under California's Three Strikes Law.

During the weeklong trial, jurors heard evidence that between New Years Eve 2023 and January 6, 2024, Zentzis left over 50 voicemails and sent multiple text messages threatening the Victim causing her to fear for her life. Zentzis is scheduled to be sentenced on November 6 in Department 9 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, The Honorable Crystal Seiler presiding, where he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison.

This case was investigated by City of Morro Bay Police Department and was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney James Statton.
