Brown Announces New Investment To Improve Street Safety In The Village Of East Palestine

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a new grant to the Village of East Palestine to develop a comprehensive safety action plan to improve local streets.

The $211,488 investment comes through the Safer Streets for All program, which funds regional and local initiatives through grants to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. The investment was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law - legislation that Brown helped write and pass - and will support the development of a safety action plans and safety improvements.

"With this latest investment from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are making our roads safer and continuing to support the people of East Palestine," said Brown. "This investment will assist the Village of East Palestine's efforts to improve local streets and intersections to prevent serious accidents and keep Ohioans safe on the road."
