On October 29, 2024, HEC Montréal will unveil the ia.hec.ca website, a new free online platform where the public can find information and tools in French to gain a better understanding and mastery of artificial intelligence (AI).
Created with the financial participation of the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF), the website fulfills the dual objective of disseminating knowledge on this subject while promoting the French language.
The information that HEC Montréal provides to Internet users is particularly relevant for anyone who would like to implement AI in their work or living environment, whether they are young adults in school or at the start of their careers, managers, or staff members within an organization.
The site breaks down the subject into four main themes or tracks:
The pages are filled with many video clips, illustrations and texts. AI-related words are highlighted and when the cursor hovers over them, they provide access to definitions from the OQLF's Vitrine linguistique (linguistic showcase).
A special section of the site is dedicated to the simple and accurate explanation of key AI concepts. A glossary also allows you to consult the meaning of all the French terms linked to this domain and present on the site.
The site also contains internal and external resources, as well as information on AI training courses offered by HEC Montréal.

A team of web developers, designers and integrators attached to HEC Montréal's Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre played a leading role in implementing this project. They are Denis Houle, Pierre Guimond and Jacynthe Scraire.
We must also mention the participation of the School's Audiovisual Department and several members of the School's faculty specializing in the field of AI.
