FLORENCE, S.C. - Growers, researchers, and agricultural professionals looking to stay at the forefront of agronomic crop production in South Carolina are invited to attend the 2024 Clemson University Pee Dee Research and Education Center Agronomy Field Day on Aug. 29.

What to Expect:

  • Crop Research Updates
    • Latest research on cotton, peanuts, sesame, sorghum and wheat varieties in South Carolina.
  • Cotton Agronomy Research
    • Microbial products and simulated deer-feeding studies.
  • Soil Health
    • Discover research in soil health response to conservation management.
    • Use of broiler litter in corn and perennial cover crops to reduce cotton inputs.
    • Impacts of sorghum on farm profitability and soil health in a dryland cropping rotation.
  • Insects
    • Identification and management of insects in cotton and soybean.
    • Adding pollinator habitats to farm management plans.

This field day is geared toward South Carolina growers, producers, and agricultural researchers. However, the general public is also welcome to attend. Attendees will have an opportunity to earn one South Carolina Recertification Credit, enhancing their professional credentials and expertise.
