WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01) released the following statement following the vote on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in the House of Representatives.

"It is a shame that Speaker Johnson has hijacked the NDAA to advance his extreme social agenda. Every year, the NDAA provides Congress with the opportunity to invest in the men and women who bravely serve our country in uniform. This year's bill would give our most junior enlisted servicemembers a well-deserved pay increase and make meaningful investments in our armed forces. It is unfortunate that Speaker Johnson is prioritizing a toxic policy position over the well-being of our men and women in uniform."
