ICYMI: Tuberville Joins “Mornings with Maria” to Discuss President Biden’s Disastrous Debate, Illegal Immigration Crisis

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business Network to discuss President Biden's disastrous performance during last week's CNN Presidential Debate. Senator Tuberville also spoke about the recent report of illegal aliens storming the U.S. border in El Paso and being released into the country, and his attendance of the inauguration ceremony of Panamanian President José Mulino.

ON COGNITIVE FITNESS OF PRESIDENT BIDEN:

CASONE: "Good morning, Senator. Your reaction to what we saw over the weekend, and that was Joe Biden on Saturday-or Friday, actually-obviously, he was on a prompter. And the Democrats seem to be in panic mode still. What are you hearing from your sources?"

TUBERVILLE: "Well, first of all, it's kind of like a reality show. Those of us who've been in Congress for going on four years have noticed all this. We've witnessed it. The mainstream media have been blocking everything that the Biden family has been doing. They've been hiding him out in Delaware. It's really embarrassing for our country. I know our adversaries are watching all this. At the end of the day, I hope they make the right decision, but for them to get together and decide whether he's going to run for President of the United States-that ought to tell you something. We need leadership. We have zero leadership right now in Washington, D.C. when it comes to the President of the United States and the decisions they've made. I don't know whether he's making them or somebody else-but somebody needs to get together with him and decide [if he should drop out of the race] very quickly. And if he needs to step down now, then go ahead and step down. Get out of the way. We need leadership now and we don't need to wait another five months."

CASONE: "But Senator, at the end of the day, it has to be President Biden and Jill Biden that make that decision. And it doesn't seem like that's happening. She's got a Vogue cover out this morning where she's defending her husband again. And I have to ask you this, there's been talk about the 25^th Amendment. It's been brought up over the weekend that he could be removed under the 25^th Amendment. Do you see any kind of scenario like that playing out?"

TUBERVILLE: "I really don't. I don't think that will happen. I think Jill Biden is really the one making the decisions physically for President Biden right now. She needs to stop the madness and get him out of this situation. I think if they would come to an agreement as a family and say, 'Listen, we've decided not to run next year. Let's play this thing out.' But right now, the American people are confused because number one, they've been told for four years that he's fine, but all of a sudden in one night they saw an absolute disaster on television, and I don't think it's going to play out very well for the Democratic party."

CASONE: "Well look, Senator Barrasso was on with Maria yesterday, and he made a very good point that our adversaries around the world were watching on Thursday night. And whether it's China, or Russia, or it's Iran, you take your pick of the threat-that we've got serious concerns about the president's viability. Watch this. […] But Nikki Haley telling the Wall Street Journal that Republicans need to gear up for a younger, more energetic candidate. She does not believe that Joe Biden is gonna be on that ticket in November. Your reaction?"

TUBERVILLE: "Well, who knows. Democrats are going to have to make that decision, but as Senator Barrasso said, our adversaries are watching, but also our allies are watching this, Cheryl. People that count on us. We basically help almost everybody in the world that are allies, whether it's for national security, defense, to helping them financially, so they're all watching going, 'What in the world is [the] American people doing? Where is this country going?' And right now, we are not going anywhere. We're going backwards, and that's why so many people are behind President Trump and understand that at least he's the leader, he understands the problems. We need to put answers to the problems. You saw in the debate the other night-I don't even think Joe Biden knew the problems. President Trump knows the problems, he knows the answers, he knows the direction he wants to go, and we've gotta get people behind him." […]

ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CRISIS:

CASONE: "I do want to ask you one other thing here to pivot for a minute, Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokespeople are telling the New York Post that dozens of these migrants were caught on camera that violently stormed the border in El Paso-that was earlier this year-they've been released. And then back in May, an El Paso judge dismissed these charges against 211 illegal migrants involved in that riot. They've been released and turned over to ICE [and] ICE released 43 of them. And Fox Digital focus group results are finding that independent voters were swayed towards President Trump in real time when he spoke about immigration during the CNN Presidential Debate. Senator?"

TUBERVILLE: "Well, we live in a dangerous world-a lot more dangerous world, Cheryl-than we did three years ago. Open borders are not what is going to help make this country even better. I am right now sitting in Panama City, Panama, getting ready to go to the inauguration of the new President José Mulino, who is a big populist. He wants to stop the Darién Gap, and that's where a lot of these people come from in Central America. And so, that's a huge plus for the American people. […] Joe Biden is probably fuming. He and Secretary Mayorkas are probably not looking eye to eye with this new president down here, but I'm looking forward to talking with him and spending some time with him. He could really make a difference for us in our country if he would do the right thing in the Darién Gap and slow the trafficking down, at least for the next five or six months until we replace the Democrats."

CASONE: "That would be an incredible turn in the immigration crisis that we are facing as a nation, Senator, and I'll be very curious to hear about that conversation because the Darién Gap is certainly, to your point, one of the biggest problems that we have as far as that migration pattern.
